Carter Derrick was born and raised in Asheboro, NC. He has thirteen years of experience at East Coast Lumber where he believes in their motto of building your own reputation. A hard working family man, Carter strives every day to enhance the lives of his customers as the manager of ECL’s Wilmington wholesale and retail store.
Carter has a degree in communication from UNCW, and currently resides in Wilmington, NC. He has been married to his wife, Lisa, for eight years now and has been blessed with four children – Clay, Crew, Clara, and Essie. He also enjoys surfing, fishing, and is an avid sports fan.

Charlie graduated from East Carolina in 1977, and started with East Coast Lumber on December 1st of that year. He is a native of Asheboro, NC. He has been married to his wife, Mary Alice, for 38 wonderful years. Charlie and Mary were very fortunate to have two children, Carter and Rebecca. Carter, who is the branch manager of the East Coast Lumber/Wilmington NC division, has 4 of Charlie’s grand-children, and Rebecca has given Charlie another grand-son as well. Charlie is one of the most successful members of the company, and he attributes that good fortune to his strong relationships with his suppliers and his valued customers.

Glenn is one of the longest standing employees of East Coast Lumber. He was initially hired by Lee Ashburn, who founded Welcome Lumber in 1979. As Glenn helped grow the business in the early years, he stayed with Lee when the company moved to its current location in Climax. For over two decades, Glenn has been in his current role as the President of the Contract Sales Office and has been selling all of the production for Troy Lumber Company during that time. He has also grown his office to include the mill sales for M.C Dixon Lumber Company in Eufaula, AL and Franklin Lumber in Franklin, VA.
Glenn lives on a farm, and whether it’s riding horses or target-shooting, you can always find Glenn enjoying his time outdoors.

Taylor has enjoyed 5 great years with East Coast Lumber in the Contract Sales Office. He graduated from UNC/Greensboro in 2014. After obtaining a degree in Economics, Taylor has enjoyed the opportunity to sell all of the production for Troy Lumber and Franklin Lumber over the past several years. His father Glenn, who is the President of the Contract Sales Office, has been instrumental in Taylor’s development and success.
Taylor is an avid supporter of the N.R.A. He enjoys target shooting and spending time with his dog, Reagan. Striving to serve his customers and strongly representing his sawmills are his highest priorities.

Derek was excited to begin his professional career with East Coast Lumber after graduating from UNC Charlotte in 2013. He is a life-long resident of North Carolina and is currently in his fourth year with the company. He enjoys coming to work every day and taking on new challenges, all while providing the highest level of customer service possible. Derek is eager and determined to serve your business and provide valuable solutions for your company.
When he is not at the office, Derek enjoys spending his time on the lake, playing golf, or being anywhere outdoors with his friends, family and his girlfriend, Lexi. Other hobbies include hunting, traveling and going to live concerts.

Mike has spent his entire life in North Carolina. He was born and raised in Asheboro, the town in which he still resides. After high school, Mike played 4 years of collegiate baseball at Pembroke State University. He returned home to Asheboro after graduating with a degree in Education and went into the furniture industry. After a few years, he took advantage of a great opportunity given to him by Johnny Hall and Lee Ashburn, and he began his career in the lumber industry with East Coast Lumber. Mike has now spent over 38 years with the company.
Mike has been married for 41 years to his wonderful wife, Cathy. They have 3 children; Cynthia, Elizabeth, and Michael. Mike and Cathy have also been blessed with 4 grand-children.

Letty started out in 1982 doing administrative duties for a major lumber producer and then, later, began working inside sales.
Letty worked in distribution, mill sales and finally wholesale for East Coast Lumber.
Letty believes that lumber becomes a part of you after years in the business. She feels that is a rewarding feeling to be able to work on behalf of a customer to get their job done. Working with integrity, fairness and a sense of loyalty is Letty's conviction in this industry.

Rob joined East Coast Lumber in 2014 after a lengthy career in Real Estate. He grew up in western North Carolina and now lives and works Wilmington, NC , where East Coast has a sales office. Rob is still very excited to be working at East Coast after almost 3 years with the company and loves coming to work everyday.
When not selling lumber, Rob enjoys surfing, trail running, and hanging out with his three kids; Ben, Savannah and Kemsley.

Tom graduated from Clemson University in 1986 with a degree in Forest Products. Originally from Bristol, Tennessee, he found his way to Clemson as a pole vaulter on the track team where he earned a varsity letter. In 1990, he married the love of his life Vicki. They have two wonderful children, Madison and Clay. Tom has worked with pine sawmills, distribution, and remanufacturers his whole working career. Tom and his family reside in Lexington, SC. He manages and operates the warehouse in Cayce, SC where he handles the sales and distribution of the flooring line as well as pursuing wholesale opportunities.
Tom enjoys time with family and friends, playing golf, mountain biking, and serving in his church.

Erin has a degree in Voice Performance from Mississippi College and attended graduate school at the University of Tennessee. She moved to North Carolina in November of 2016 to join East Coast Lumber. Erin’s professional experience has been predominately in sales, customer service and hospitality. She brings with her a passion for building relationships and making business personal.
Erin has 2 children, Annie and Evan. She has a passion for community service. In Knoxville, she served on United Way’s loaned executive program; Knoxville Opera Guild Board; Chaired the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life; and was the Music Minister at North Side Christian Church for 8 years.

Keith, a native of North Carolina, has spent over a decade with East Coast Lumber and Industrial Wood Products. He started off in a valued role with Industrial Wood Products and quickly earned a stellar reputation within the company and throughout the industry. After 5 successful years in the board program, he was promoted to mill sales. Keith has served in that role for over 4 years now, where he is responsible for managing all of the sales for M.C Dixon Lumber on a daily basis.
Keith’s family is very important, and they like to spend time on the water. On weekends and holidays, you can often find Keith enjoying time at their home on the Neuse River. Music and the outdoors are also among Keith’s many passions, and he loves going to live concerts.

After a childhood in Mississippi, Taylor attended the University of Alabama, where he played baseball for the Crimson Tide. Upon being drafted by the Florida Marlins, he left college early to begin an 8 year professional career. Along the journey, Taylor met his wife Lauren, who is a native of North Carolina. When his playing days were over, Taylor and Lauren moved back to North Carolina to start a family. They have been blessed with one son, Huck, who is now 5 years old.
Taylor kept his promise to his mother by finishing his under-graduate degree from Alabama. He did this at the same time he was beginning his career in the lumber industry. Taylor has been with East Coast Lumber for 4 years, and he continues to grow his business and cultivate deeper relationships with every customer he strives to serve.
