Charlie graduated from East Carolina in 1977, and started with East Coast Lumber on December 1st of that year. He is a native of Asheboro, NC. He has been married to his wife, Mary Alice, for over 40 years. Charlie and Mary were very fortunate to have two children, Carter and Rebecca. Carter, who is the branch manager of the East Coast Lumber/Wilmington NC division, has 4 of Charlie’s grand-children, and Rebecca has given Charlie another grandson as well. Charlie attributes his good fortune and success to his strong relationships with his suppliers and his valued customers.
Lee Ashburn gave me a chance, right out of school, to make a living with this company. I’m very proud and thankful to say that my family has benefited from that opportunity. I will be forever grateful.
